With
plentiful and extremely good food prepared under the watchful eye of
the French team dietician, and accommodation only 100m from the
funicular in Tignes, fifteen members of the British Children's Ski
Team were ideally placed to face the rigours of October glacier
training. Wintry snow conditions and clear blue skies almost every
day meant that training times were maximised, and no time was lost.
New Head Coach Phil Brown organised very full sessions on snow
combining technical free skiing with gate training, and also some
timed runs in slalom and GS - as well as fitness training on dry
land. He was delighted with the technical level and progress of all
athletes.
The Team is looking forward to a full winter of racing, once again
starting off in the Czech Republic in January. Plans are now all set
for this camp and we look forward to some good results.
We
are delighted that Trespass has once again been pleased to supply
the team with clothing for the coming season, and very grateful also
to the Skiers' Trust of Great Britain for a generous donation
towards the costs of the winter events. Our annual Draw in support
of the BCST has already got off to a good start - there are five
holidays to be won. Tickets may be obtained from
